Living in the Karoo - which I love, truly - your skin doesn’t get a break. The sun is relentless. The wind has opinions. And softness? It doesn’t last long out here unless something actually works.
And then, almost annoyingly obvious - we’re sheep farmers. And somewhere in between feeding, checking, and walking the veld, I started looking at tallow differently. Not as something old or outdated. Just… practical. Familiar. Ours.
Something we already have. Something we understand.
So I kept it simple. Properly simple.
We source locally. We render the tallow ourselves. Small batches, always - so I can stay close to every part of the process. No unnecessary extras.
Just something honest that does what it’s meant to do.

What is tallow skincare?
Tallow is a natural fat derived from animals, traditionally used to nourish and protect the skin. It closely resembles the oils our skin naturally produces, which allows it to absorb easily and support healthy, balanced skin.
Will it make my skin feel greasy?
No, when used correctly, tallow absorbs well into the skin. A small amount goes a long way, leaving your skin soft and nourished rather than oily.
Does it have a strong smell?
Our tallow is carefully rendered to keep the scent mild and natural. Any remaining scent is subtle and fades quickly after application.

Will it clog my pores?

Where does your tallow come from?
All our tallow comes from our own sheep, raised on our farm in the Karoo, and from surrounding Karoo farmers. We render it in small batches to keep the process simple and close to its natural state.

Apply a small amount to clean skin and gently massage it in. It can be used on the face, hands, or body wherever your skin needs extra nourishment.
How long will one jar last?
A little goes a long way. Depending on use, one jar can last several weeks to a few months.
